Volkswagen Cars That Can Park Themselves Remotely

The VW Park Assist Vision (PAV) will asset driver to remotely park their Volkswagen cars. The driver does not even need to be in the car. Apart from this, the Volkswagen PAV can park the car perpendicularly like in parking spots or in parallel as in along the street.

This means, if you can park in the tightest of spots, without worrying about how you are going to open your door to get out, because you won't be in the car while doing the parking. This sounds exciting. This is the sort of things James Bond movies are made up.

The hardware involved includes ultrasonic sensors, electro-mechanical steering gear, and a 2GHz computer. Once the car is nice and ensconced in its spot, the engine shuts off and the doors are locked. All these will be done via remote control.
